 Scarlet ex is the name given to the Japanese SV1S set released during the Scarlet & Violet era of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

The set was launched in Japan on January 20, 2023, and consists of 108 cards, with 78 regular cards and 30 secret cards.

This set marks the beginning of the ninth generation in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, introducing new mechanics and Pokémon from the Paldea region. Pokémon ex cards return in this expansion, with the ability to offer powerful abilities and attacks, but granting two prize cards to the opponent if they are defeated. Additionally, Terastal Pokémon are introduced, featuring unique characteristics and new effects based on the eponymous mechanic in the main games.

Expansion Contents:

• Each pack contains 5 cards.
• Key ex cards include Koraidon ex and Arcanine Terastal ex, representing the most iconic Pokémon from the Paldea region.
• Cards with special illustrations are included, such as Special Art Rare cards, which feature exclusive and detailed designs.
• The set also includes new Trainer cards and Energy cards that support the new mechanics introduced.

This set was released simultaneously with Violet ex, and together they form the basis for the English expansion "Scarlet & Violet", launched in March 2023​
